About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Savannah, Georgia, Cotton & Rye offers an exceptional New American dining experience that blends the art of fast-casual dining with the sophistication of a wine bar. This vibrant restaurant effortlessly captures the spirit of Southern comfort with inventive dishes that are as visually stunning as they are palate-pleasing.

The menu at Cotton & Rye is a celebration of bold flavors and elevated classics. From the moment you take your first bite of their award-winning crispy chicken wings, you understand why patrons return again and again. These wings pack a punch of perfectly seasoned, crunchy goodness that feels indulgent without being heavy. For a heartier option, the fried chicken thighs paired with creamy mac and cheese offer pure comfort—rich, tender, and decadently creamy. If you prefer something lighter but equally satisfying, the shrimp and grits sing with a harmonious blend of sweet and savory notes, while the roasted Brussels sprouts provide a delightfully crisp contrast, caramelized to perfection.

Seafood enthusiasts will be charmed by the market fish trout, cooked with impeccable precision to highlight its freshness, or savor the beef tartare for a sophisticated meat option. The spicy pork ragu reveals a depth of robust flavors that linger memorably long. Complementing the mains are thoughtfully crafted sides like the velvety cheese grits and vibrant salads that balance the richer plates.

Dessert here is nothing short of decadent artistry. The candy bars, a sumptuous medley of shortbread, caramel, and milk chocolate topped with whipped crème fraîche, evoke nostalgic indulgence with every bite. The peanut butter pie with concord grape coulis is a complex, silky delight, while the mint chocolate ice cream refreshes the palate with dark chocolate cookie bites and peppermint patties. These sweet creations are thoughtfully paired with dessert cocktails, elevating the end of your meal to a perfect crescendo.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Cotton & Rye exudes Southern hospitality. Diners frequently praise the attentive and warm service — servers like Asia and Olivia are celebrated for making guests feel truly cared for, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and genuine friendliness. The space itself feels welcoming and lively, ideal for everything from casual dinners to special occasions. Many guests highlight the expertly mixed drinks, particularly the house specialty Sazerac and the immaculate dirty martinis, which complement their dishes flawlessly.

Whether you’re a local or visiting Savannah for the first time, Cotton & Rye is a destination that invites you to savor thoughtfully prepared dishes that marry tradition with modern creativity. Its consistent praise for both cuisine and ambiance makes it a standout gem where flavors burst and hospitality shines—a place you won’t just eat at, but truly experience.

My first time in Savannah and I think this was a great introduction. The staff was friendly and attentive. The drinks were really good, and the food was very tasty! I particularly loved the shrimp and grits, Mac n cheese, Brussels, and fish dip. The food was excellently seasoned! Our server Asia was so nice and kept us well fed and watered the entire time and her suggestions for food to try were some of my favorites.

Do yourself a favor and just come here. You will thank yourself. This is the choices my partner and I made while dining here. The Local Trout (chef’s kiss), the Almighty most delicious Fried Chicken I have experienced in a long while, and top of the line dirty martini. *SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT* This is a MUST. We experienced the candy bars and chocolate cake. So incredibly delicious. There is a small parking lot on the side of the restaurant. The atmosphere is calm and inviting. The dress is dressy casual I would say. I would visit Savannah again just to experience this restaurant again.

One of my favorite restaurants my girlfriend and I go out to. Our waitress was really kind and nice. She was always attentive and knew when we needed to be checked on. Drinks, delectable. Food, fantastic. That candy bar though? To die for. The candy bar is so good here that I bring it to my mother all the way in Atlanta. It is her favorite dessert. Overall another excellent experience and dinner, will be returning shortly.

A delightful evening filled with explosions of flavors for your taste buds.. our server Olivia was kind and served us well. We had Caesar Salad, Fish Dip-excellent flavors along with their homemade hot sauce, Vegetarian Pasta-abounding with flavor , full of flavor, very satisfying, and the Pork shank was tender and amazingly flavorful! The cornbread was amazing with its honey butter and syrup.

I highly recommend this place. Everything was excellent. We started with the award-winning crispy chicken wings. They were a little messy to eat but very good. For entrées, we had the local trout and the pork chop. Both were flavorful, but I would pick the pork chop because the portion was larger and it came with collard greens and potatoes. We also added a side of Brussels sprouts, which were crispy and seasoned well, and they included fried okra with it. The service was outstanding. Asia was friendly, attentive, and explained the menu clearly. I will definitely come back, and I suggest making reservations.

The food was awesome, the music had us bopping. We had the wings, seriously great, they said award winning, I can believe it. Something as simple as a Caesar salad is elevated to another level. The shrimp and grits, to die for, do not slip the fried chicken.

This is a fantastic restaurant. Right from the beginning it felt like it would be a great dining experience and it was! When we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly manager named Simon who sat us immediately. Our server Patrick was outstanding. He was professional, helpful, personable and made great recommendations. The food was excellent and delicious! The Uni Bucatini, Crispy Chicken Wings, Beet Salad, Trout and Peanut Butter Pie were all exceptional! The cocktails were also fantastic. The best Cuba Libra ever! Overall, it was an awesome dining experience. I highly recommend stopping by and experiencing it yourself!

I gave the Food a 5 but I wish the servings were larger. I made reservations but I think walk in is possible. I would make a reservation to be sure. Upscale menu but casual atmosphere. Other tables included couples, friends, and young families. This is a casual date night spot from my experience but the price is more of a special occasion spot. I was going to order the Uni Appetizer. However, that evening 's Appetizer Special was Roasted Local Oysters on the Half Shell. I opted to order the Sous Vide Yellow Beet Salad with Kale, Ricotta, and I switched out Cashews for Candied Pecans. My dining companion had a Full Sized House Salad. This was actually large enough to be dinner if paired with a protein. I had the Local Trout and Savannah Red Rice with Blue Crab. My dining companion had the Appetizer Shrimp and Grits with Carmelized Onions. Dessert was House Made Candy Bars with Shortbread, Caramel, Milk Chocolate, Whipped Creme Fraiche.
